Perum Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) Kedu Utara constitutes one of the management units under the Regional Division of Central Java. In accordance with Government Regulation No. 72 of 2010 and the 2023 Potential Evaluation, its working area spans 36,425.17 hectares, distributed across the administrative regions of Kendal, Magelang, Semarang, Temanggung, and Wonosobo Regencies in Central Java Province, with boundaries as follows:

• North  : Adjacent to the working area of KPH Kendal
• East     : Adjacent to the working areas of KPH Kendal and KPH Surakarta
• South  : Adjacent to the working area of KPH Kedu Selatan
• West   : Adjacent to the working area of KPH Banyumas Timur

According to land suitability, the forest area of KPH Kedu Utara is classified into two Enterprise Classes (KP), namely Pine with an area of 25,069.00 hectares and Mahogany with an area of 11,356.17 hectares.

Forest Functions:

• Limited Production Forest (HPT) < 15% covering 722.19 hectares
• Limited Production Forest (HPT) > 15% covering 10,237.03 hectares
• Production Forest (HP) covering 12,863.42 hectares
• Protected Forest (HL) covering 12,602.53 hectares

Based on Government Regulation No. 72 of 2010 and the Forest Resource Potential Evaluation of 2023, KPH Kedu Utara is divided into several Forest Areas (BH):

1. Ambarawa area covering of 6.004,52 Ha
2.  BH Magelang area covering of 3.705,56 Ha
3.  BH Temanggung area covering of 5.430,46 Ha
4. BH Wonosobo area covering of 9.928,46 Ha
5. BH Candiroto area covering of 11.356,17 Ha

Based on the management area, KPH Kedu Utara consists of 5 (five) Forest Management Unit Sections (BKPH) and 21 (twenty-one) Forest Management Unit Resorts (RPH) with the following details:

• BKPH Ambarawa = 6.004,52 Ha

   3. RPH Pagergunung = 1.222,50 Ha
   4. RPH Srandil = 871,28 Ha
