Perum Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) Kebonharjo is one of the management units in the Central Java Regional Division. Its area is 17,739.10 Ha, covering forest areas in Rembang, Blora, and Tuban regencies. Based on the evaluation of forest resource potential in 2010, the forest area of KPH Kebonharjo is a Production Forest covering an area of 13,392.90 Ha (75.5%) and 4,346.20 Ha (24.5%) Non-Production Forest.
Based on BATB (Official Report on Land Boundary) in 1926 – 1927 and BATB in 1937, KPH Kebonharjo is a production forest based on topography consisting of 15.87% flat land, sloping (59.11%), undulating (13.44%), rather steep (10.75%), and 0.83% steep. KPH Kebonharjo is located at an altitude of 0 to 806 above sea level. Based on geology, the condition consists of clay, limestone, and marl. The climate in the KPH Kebonharjo area is type D, with rainfall of 1,140 mm per year.
Forest area management in KPH Kebonharjo is organized into 7 BKPH and 24 RPH. Each RPH has field implementers for plant activities, maintenance, thinning, security, extension/social assistants, environmental assistants, and logging (BKPH). There are 338 employees of KPH Kebonharjo.
The seven BKPHs are Mt Lasem, Karas, Ngandang, Tuder, Sale, Tawaran, and Gayam. The area of BKPH Mt Lasem is 2,629 Ha, covering the working regions of RPH Sidowayah, RPH Kajar, and RPH Gandrirejo. BKPH Karas has an area of 1,546 Ha, including RPH Karas, RPH Bedog, and RPH Ngampon. BKPH Ngandang covers an area of 3,036.8 hectares, overseeing RPH Tuderbalo, RPH Lodan, RPH Bonjor, and RPH Mangseng.
Meanwhile, BKPH Tuder has an area of 2,331.40 Ha, including RPH Tuder, RPH Tahunan, and RPH Tengger. Then BKPH Sale has an area of2,411.70 Ha, overseeing the RPH Terongan, RPH Ketodan, and RPH Ngepon. And BKPH Tawaran has an area of 2,807.80 ha, including RPH Karang Tengah, RPH Gato, RPH Ngjajar, RPH Soko Gunung. BKPH Gayam (area 2,700 ha), including RPH Ngapus, RPH Nglengkir, RPH Merah, and RPH Sumber Wungu. In addition, the KPH Kebonharjo area also covers a groove area of 276.40 hectares.
