Perum Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) Mantingan is one of the management units in the Central Java Regional Division. Its area is 16,751.92 Ha, covering forest areas in Rembang and Blora Regencies. Based on the evaluation of the potential of forest resources, the KPH Mantingan forest area is a Production Forest covering an area of 16,745.41 Ha (99.96%) and a Groove Area of 6.51 Ha (0.04%) and LDTI.
Based on the Official Report on Land Boundary (BATB) in 1915, 1916, 1923, 1924, 1931 and 1994, KPH Mantingan is a production forest based on topography consisting of 91.28% flat land/sloping land and 8.72% steep land.
Based on the Geographical Location, KPH Mantingan is located at 111°22′ East Longitude – 111°28′ East Longitude and 6°54’LS – 6°54′ South Latitude. While based on the geographical area, it borders the Java Sea in the north, KPH Kebonharjo in the east, KPH Blora in the south, and KPH Pati in the west. The climate in the KPH Mantingan area includes types C and D, with rainfall of 1,140 mm per year.
KPH Mantingan has three Forest Sections (BH), under the class of Teak forest, with the following soil types:
The forest area management in KPH Mantingan is divided into 6 Forest Management Units (BKPH) and 21 Forest Management Resorts (RPH). Each RPH has field implementers for plant activities, maintenance, thinning, security, extension/social assistants, environmental assistants, and logging (BKPH). There are 269 employees of KPH Mantingan.
The six BKPHs are Kalinanas, Sudo, Ngiri, Demaan, Kebon and Medang. BKPH Kalinanas spreads for 2,719.41 Ha, covering the RPH Sumberjo, RPH Bedingin, RPH Kedungbacin and RPH Gaplokan. BKPH Sudo has an area of2,340.48 Ha, including RPH Tanjung, RPH Logede and RPH Jatigenuk. While BKPH Ngiri covers an area of 2,487.63 Ha, overseeing RPH Ngiri, RPH, Sangkrah, and RPH Tlogo.
Meanwhile, BKPH Demaan has an area of 3,261.75 Ha, including RPH Blebak, RPH Jukung, RPH Pamotan and RPH Trembes. Then BKPH Kebon has an area of 2,314.32 Ha, overseeing RPH Mantingan, RPH Sadang and RPH Timbrangan. BKPH Medang has an area of 3,628.34 Ha, including RPH Nglangitan, RPH Pasedan, RPH Sendangharjo and RPH Kedungrejo. And KPH Mantingan has a groove area of 276.52 Ha. (see: Map)
