Perum Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) Purwodadi is one of the companies with a business nature as a service provider for the public benefit and, at the same time, fostering profits by managing the forest based on the principles of Forest Resources’ management and sustainability.
In managing forest resources in Central Java province, KPH Purwodadi is under the management of the unitary working area of Perum Perhutani, Central Java Regional Division. KPH Purwodadi has a 19,636.5 Ha work area with an altitude between 0 – 500 m above sea level with a flat to steep topography, all of which are Teak Company Class and are divided into 8 Forest Management Units (BKPH), with the following divisions:
Climatologically, KPH Purwodadi is located in an area with a clear difference between the rainy and dry seasons and belongs to a type C climate (Schmidt and Fergusson). Administratively, the forest area of KPH Purwodadi is under the Pati Regency area of 1,566,7 Ha and Grobogan Regency area of 17,503.0 Ha from the total forest area of KPH Purwodadi: 19,636.5 Ha.
It shows that the most significant part of the KPH Purwodadi forest area (91.16%) is in the Grobogan district. The centralized location ofthe KPH Purwodadi forest area is in the Grobogan district, so the socio-economic conditions of the surrounding population need to get a clearer picture.
Grobogan Regency, with an area of 1,975.86 Km² Ha, is divided into 19 (nineteen) sub-districts. At the same time, those related to or adjacent to KPH Purwodadi are eight sub-districts, i.e., Wirosari, Tawangharjo, Ngaringan, Kelambu, Brati, Grobogan, Godong and Purwodadi. There are two sub-districts under Pati Regency, i.e., Sukolilo and Kayen. Meanwhile, the Kudus Regency adjacent to KPH Purwodadi is Undaan Sub-district. (See: KPH Map).
